The two lasers work together to generate a real-time view of the subcutaneous vasculature up to 10mm deep. First, the hemoglobin in the blood absorbs infrared light, resulting in less light reflection from the veins. A proprietary detecting system then uses this shift in review to establish vein location and pattern, which is digitally displayed on the skin's surface. Finally, the green laser illuminates the vein mapping for the practitioner.
